SEER or EER?

"When entering efficiency values for the purposes of EPC generation or BER calculations the Seasonal efficiency (SCoP or SEER) should be specified rather than the gross or nominal efficiency (COP or EER). In the case of cooling systems, the specification of the EER (in the nominal efficiency  field) rather than the SEER (in the seasonal efficiency field) will only contribute towards the Building Regulations compliance checklist and will not be taken into account within the calculation of the energy usage. Though manufacturers will frequently only quote EERs in marketing material a reasonable adjustment may be made to the system to adjust for it's seasonal variant. The adjustment made may be advised by the manufacturer. The quoted figure should refer only to the generator and not the whole system.
