(Q) Why doesn’t password reset allow for the account to be unlocked? (A) Accounts will become locked if an incorrect password is entered 5 times within a relatively short space of time, or if the user has been inactive for a pre-defined number of weeks/months. Unfortunately the password reset does not allow for the account to be unlocked. The user accounts were created initially without any auto-lockout feature, so the reset password facility was and is purely that; to reset passwords. The locking of accounts came about later on in development. The unlock mechanism is currently on the admin facility only.
